Google Drive Integration with Numeric
Last updated: June 24, 2025
🔍 Overview
Numeric’s integration with Google Drive enables secure, read-only access to key financial documents—ensuring control, privacy, and audit readiness. This guide explains how the integration works, what permissions are required, and how documents are processed.
🔐 Access & Permissions
✅ Read-only access: Numeric only reads files; it never edits or writes to Drive.
📎 Explicit linking required: Only documents linked in the Reconcile module are accessed.
👤 Per-user authentication: Each team member must link their own Google account.
🛡 Security governed by Google Workspace: All access aligns with your organization’s existing permissions and profiles.
🔗 How Document Integration Works
🔄 Linking Process
Go to Manage Sources in the Reconcile module.
Link either:
A specific file, or
An entire folder (all spreadsheets in subfolders will be included).
Numeric:
Loads spreadsheets
Highlights multi-entity files
Allows users to exclude files before syncing
📊 Data Reading & Processing
Numeric only reads files linked to reconciliations
There is no broad indexing or background scanning
Original Drive permissions remain unchanged
Multi-entity files receive special tagging for context-aware handling
⚙ Setup Instructions
Navigate to:
Settings→File StorageFollow the Google OAuth sign-in prompts
(Optional) Get admin approval from your Google Workspace Admin Portal
Configure file or folder access as needed
🔒 Security Considerations
Uses minimal OAuth scopes (read-only)
Numeric cannot modify or delete files
