Connecting SharePoint/OneDrive to Numeric without Site Scoped Integration (General)

Last updated: November 15, 2025

Overview

Numeric connects to Sharepoint as a cloud storage provider to parse values from Excel or PDF files explicitly linked by team members to help automate account reconciliations.

Integration Types

Numeric offers two types of SharePoint integrations:

  1. General

  2. Site-Scoped

This guide provides step by step guidance for General SharePoint integrations.

If a site-scoped connection is required, an additional 30-min onboarding call will take place with your IT administrator to leverage the Microsoft Graph Explorer to create the connection. See 📄 Connecting SharePoint Site with Site Scoped Integration: A Step-by-Step Guidefor more information.

Note: Under either integration types, Numeric is only able to read documents directly linked to the platform. Indexing of files or any file access beyond documents linked directly is not possible.

If permissions do not need to be granted to integrate your SharePoint/OneDrive to Numeric, then this process is entirely self-serve. However, the video and steps below detail the process for completing the integration if IT permission is needed.

For the Numeric User (Accountant)

Step 1: Click "Add File Storage" in Numeric

Step 2: Select "OneDrive/SharePoint" from the options

Step 3: Sign into the integration when prompted

Step 4: If you are NOT a Microsoft admin:

  • You'll see a screen asking if you have an admin account

  • Contact your Microsoft administrator to remote into your machine

  • The admin will enter their credentials on your machine

Step 5: If you ARE a Microsoft admin (or once admin credentials are entered):

  • Click "Accept" to complete the connection

  • The integration will now be connected to your account

For the Microsoft Administrator (IT Team)

These steps are required to allow all accountants in the Numeric workspace to connect their OneDrive without needing admin approval each time.

Step 1: Navigate to Microsoft Azure (or Microsoft Entra)

Step 2: Go to "Enterprise Apps"

Step 3: Find and click on "Numeric" (it will appear in the list after the first connection)

Step 4: Click "Permissions" in the left sidebar

Step 5: Click the blue button that says "Grant admin consent for Numeric"

Step 6: Confirm the action

Once the Microsoft admin grants consent, any accountant in the Numeric workspace can connect their OneDrive independently by simply clicking "Add File Storage" and selecting OneDrive. No admin assistance required for subsequent connections.
