Setting thresholds for Flux reports
Last updated: May 7, 2026
This document outlines the steps to manage flux analysis thresholds. Each flux analysis report has an individual threshold which can be set. If you are reconciling multiple entities in a single report you will need to set a threshold for each entity in the functional currency.
Viewing the Thresholds for a specific Flux Report
Navigate to the desired flux analysis you wish to configure.
Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.
Select Manage Thresholds from the dropdown menu.
Setting Thresholds
Note: Each entity has an individual threshold displayed in its functional currency.
Important: Individual account thresholds override report-level thresholds. If you've previously set thresholds for specific accounts, updating the report-level threshold will not affect those accounts.
You can choose between:
Dollar and Percent
Dollar or Percent
Dollar only
Percent only
Adjust the thresholds as necessary.
To control how variances are color-coded, use the Color by threshold toggle. When enabled, colors indicate whether items meet your configured thresholds. When disabled (default), green indicates positive variances and red indicates negative variances, regardless of threshold settings.
Click Save to apply the changes.
The updated thresholds will be reflected immediately.
Adjusting a Threshold for an Individual Account
Numeric allows you to set an individual account flux analysis threshold. For example, if you have a specific account, such as a cash sweep account, which should always maintain a zero balance, you can set a lower threshold.
Setting Individual Account Thresholds
Select the account card for the account you want to modify.
Choose Set Variance Threshold and update the amounts.
Click Save to finalize the changes.
Bulk Editing Account Thresholds
Hover over the rows on the left side of the flux report to reveal the bulk editing checkboxes.
Check one box, then select Select All at the bottom.
Choose Threshold from the bulk actions menu.
Update the threshold values for all selected rows.
Click Save to apply the changes.
There’s currently no global setting to disable explanation triggering by thresholds for all Subtotals and Totals. As a workaround, set very high materiality thresholds for those rows so they’re unlikely to trigger explanations. Thresholds can be adjusted per row by selecting the row and updating the value in the sidebar.
The “Add Explanation” placeholder appears on every row in a flux report, even if the row has no threshold or assignee, and it cannot be removed from individual lines.
To reduce confusion, have team members submit explanations from the Overview tab, where they only see tasks assigned to them.
Audit Trail
An Audit Trail button is available at the bottom of the Manage Thresholds screen.
This feature displays a history of all changes made to the flux analysis thresholds at both the report level and individual account level.
